I have imagined the perfect way to ensure that no one marries the wrong person. It will eliminate divorce (because you would have to marry only someone you really love and trust) and it would eliminate divorce lawyers (the greatest of all possible outcomes). The solution is this:
After 20 years of marriage, it is perfectly legal to kill your spouse.
Wouldn't you make darn sure you loved her and she loved you?! Wouldn't you strive to be the best possible spouse you could be, knowing that your lover could kill you (after 20 years) without fear of criminal prosecution?! Damn right!!!
