HARD WORK ALLEVIATES NEED FOR MIRACLES

I recently saw a post on myspace that read:
"I'm being evaluated for promotion. Pray, with me, that God's Will be done."
These kinds of posts blow my mind. I want to say to these people,
"If you did your job worthy of promotion AND there is room for you and all the other people who did their jobs equally or superiorly well, then you'll get the promotion. God's Will, as it were, would be for you to do your best BEFORE the promotion opportunity and not cry in vain supplication--like every other candidate--AFTER your work is already being evaluated."
These idiots really piss me off. Work hard and take pride in a job well done. Promotion will happen commensurate with your performance, not with your ability to pray after the fact. If I were God, I'd answer your prayer by mailing you a copy of your own resume with a post-it note reading, "Would you hire yourself?"
